I have a Beretta Storm Carbine in 9mm that is a sweet little pistol carbine that uses the ubiquitous M9 magazine and has a Buck Rogers profile. It is a cool little shooter. I like it a lot and get another one if I could at the right price. Thumbs up.

So.

The factory rib will mount the low profile Primary Arms Micro Red Dot perfectly and is a smooth and handy addition particularly if you have an M9. A Viking Flashlight mount will mount perfectly near the front if you want a flashlight on on carbine (you should). It's a very nice pistol caliber carbine.

However, the trigger group is made of plastic and while perfectly functional is anything but crispy... Concessions have been made due to manufacturing spec...

That is not a deal killer as steel aftermarket kits are available to address this. They are pricey.

So.

Personally, I prefer the KelTec folding 9mm carbine for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with being half as expensive.

The compact folding aspect is a benefit that goes without saying and simply makes it unique.

IMO everyone should have one (or 2 or 3). They will fit in your lunch bag.

Personally, I think the ergonomics of the KelTec are superior and when fitted with the factory rail mount forearm offers much more latitude for mounting sights,slings and lights.

The trigger on the KelTec is much better and in my experience they have been noticeable more accurate across the board.

The KelTec has a lifetime guarantee that I have found to be straight on and without question.

While I have had no experience I have heard the sometime Beretta support is troublesome.

The Beretta is questionable regarding +p+ ammo which is a non-issue with the KelTec. Sometime past I ended up with a large (very) volume of Hertenburger L7a1 subgun ammo at a dime a round that is considered to be dangerous in most 9mm with the exceptions of G17s, Sterlings and MP5s. Supposably it will rattle a P35 in as little as 100 rounds. It is exceptional accurate in the KelTec (<1" 50 yards) and delivers full three five seven output (measured 124gr @1600fps). Smoking hot. I would not consider shooting in it my Storm. It might be ok...who knows. Still blowing up a expensive little shooter does not appeal to me.

So.

Get the Storm and enjoy it. The low Primary Arms Micro Red Dot will fit the rib perfectly. It's a wonderful little shooter. 9mm is now at historically low prices and you should buy it cheap and stack it deep. The Storm is a great way to shoot up all the GI ammo. Very nice little carbine especially if you have a M9.

Now, regarding 9mm carbines the new Ruger PC9 may be the real deal for a back porch rifle.

But that is a whole 'nuther story.
