SSC 4007 turned sour

Looking for something else saw some SSC 4007 that I had forgotten about. I had taped the lid but it looked a little funny. Closer inspection revealed a metal lid turned to liquid goo, strong acid odor, reddish color granules. I had used a full bottle for some loads and this was a half bottle that was left over. I, luckily, long ago shot all the loads made with that powder. Do you all think it would have 'turned' if it were in loaded ammo?

I'm surprised, you could not have had it all that long a

time. But, it is not a powder I use so I can't claim any experience with it at all. I would like to hear more though.

I picked up two pounds to experiment with, results were OK

but not better than my "go to, Ken Waters" loads. SSC recall was 2015 I think, I remember checking Lot #'s on my cell at the store to make sure it was OK so cannot be older than that. I have other powders older that are still fine. Maybe that is why it was on sale!?

They did a recall on 4007 a few years back, I received 3lbs of the IMR powder of my choice for the 2lbs I had purchased.
