still observed some places, but nowhere in my memory since MLK day established. I also miss when people studied history, observed and preserved history, rather than trying to shame, erase, and rewrite it.

Many things in American history are being rewritten or abolished altogether by revisionists (I am being polite in using that term.) who have no motives other than revenge or just pure hatred.
I am of a vintage that, years ago, enjoyed a state holiday known as Confederate Memorial Day.
