This is mostly for my wife. I know Ha! Ha! but I have purchased too many small shooters for her and the recoil has always bee too much. She will not carry this but will be just for home defense with 38 +P.
I have a Colt Official Police and a 12 ga. shotgun for such

duties. I've been considering getting a 20 ga. pump gun for her. I think that will be just fine and it suits your sensabilities as well. That's always a plus.

My wife has a 9mm Kel Tec SUB2000. She likes it and shoots it pretty well. At bedroom distances a shotgun pattern will only spread out a few inches with five to eight shots of heavy recoil. We are both more confident withher having seventeen shots if theyare ever needed.

Do have a Sig but she won't use it. This 686 is the tighest S&W I have ever handled and I have owned many as we all have. This one will be stout enough for recoil purposes but with the short barrel it will not weigh her down too much.

Nope. I've got a 19 in my nightstand but she's got an S&W SD-9 on her side with three mags ready to go. Really need to get her to the range with that pair!
