Queen of the Battlefield

After nearly a year (thanks ATF!) I was able to finally pick up my Vickers MG.

It ran awesome with the original belt and new Wolf ammo. It ran reasonably well using Russian PKM belts. Unfortunately the old British ammo was pretty bad on junk primers. I just bought 3000 rounds of it and now I’m regretting that now...

Anyways here are a couple of videos of it running. Lots of fun!!

Queen of the Battlefield is Infantry

The troops that used the Vickers and knew them intimately called them the Queen of the Battlefield. They and the Maxim changed the way Wars were fought. The Grand Old Lady of No Man’s Land was another name given to the Vickers Gun.

Footman? Try again...

Queen of the Battlefield" is an appelation given to Infantry

Since the days of Napoleon. The Queen, in chess, can move any way she needs to, just as Infantry can... The Same title was given to the British Vickers Heavy MG in WWI. Same name, different times and methods & Reasons...
