one of our employees, Rick, took his son across the inlet to a friends bait station for black bear this weekend. His 12 year old son, with the great name Hunter, got a big black bear squaring 6 feet 1 inch...and as they were taking a picture Hunter exclaimed ' Dad! behind you !!' and an even bigger bear , squaring 6 feet 10" walked right up to them....Rick employed his marlin 45/70 to good effect-- father and son both got the pictures then:

a day later at the same spot, the bait station owners daughter, barely 10 years old, go this grizzly using her 308 [ don't tell the bears they are only using 308s, it probably wouldn't work any more ] :

these alaskan kids don't even know how good they have it up here !!
