Finally! Finally found a missing J-frame!

I've been searching the house and my shop for over a year to find a J-frame Model 36 I bought for my wife. 3" barrel, square butt, blue finish, and in darn near perfect condition. An excellent resolver, but the d@mn thing had gone walkabout, or so I thought....

I've told my wife at least a half-dozen times that I was missing a revolver. I even described it and called it by name, not that she would recognize the nomenclature.

Today however, I asked if she had her other revolver handy (a hammerless J-frame in .32 Magnum) as I'm leaving for a weekend in Boise. She said yes, it is still hidden in the bookshelf in HER shop.

Wait a minute, she carries the .32 in a fanny pack holster! What revolver is she talking about? The missing 36 of course. It is hers, after all, but for some reason I was sure it was in my possession, not hers.

Over a year! That is the longest I've ever misplaced, er, forgotten a gun.

Otony, color me embarrassed.

I suggested that you check your winter coat pocket at the time.

That WAS a while ago. LOL!

Glad you found it.

I misplaced a Bearcat for about two years once. We hold semi-regular inventories here now. That 36 sound like a honey. Next time, you should "lose it" at my house!

Finally! Finally found a missing J-frame!

been there. My wife hid a pistol case under the guest bedroom bed. Year and a half later she said were you looking for this? I asked her no fewer than 50 times.

I'm still looking

for a Roy Baker pancake holster I last saw a couple of years ago. Fortunately, I don't THINK it has a gun in it....

It happens...

I am currently looking for a pellet rifle that vanished from my house over the last couple years. My Dad lost an original Remington 41 derringer about 40 years ago that was never taken out of the house, that we know of. My Grandfather misplaced a Colt Lightning revolver about 50 years ago, that just vanished out of a tack box in his basement. That does not count the firearms that were never returned after being loaned out, or were lost to thieves after break-ins. Have spent months looking for things that were safely stored exactly where they were supposed to be, but I thought they had been moved and not put back, so never checked there.
