Truly different, I'll bet its history would be interesting.

Very interesting...

I am thinking his starting price is a bit on the high side for a parts gun, but it does look like it could be quite fun to play with.

My thought as well Brian.

Sure, there's probably more than that wrapped up in the machine time (especially if one cannot do so himself) but, without knowing who did and what was done, it would be a real shot in the dark. Still kinda neat.

From the pictures it looks like...

A new barrel and the original cylinder is sleeved for the smaller round. I could be wrong.

That's what I see too Mark.

I'm puzzled by the cylinder sleeves extending out front so far. Why not bring the barrel stub inboard instead? Odd duck for sure.

That's what I see too Mark.

The extended sleeves could be for two reasons, the round it is chambered for needs the extra length, or they wanted the barrel shank fully enclosed by the frame for more support. My guess is more likely the former.

1917 cylinders were a bit short.

I'm betting that's why. Looks like really nice work on somebody's part.

Yep. Forgot that bit.

For whatever reason, I was thinking Colt New Service which *should* be long enough but then I was also underestimating the COAL of the Jet as well.
