Best bargain in 12ga SxS side hammers?

by Josh M., West Michigan, Saturday, December 24, 2016, 19:11 (2893 days ago)

I'm on the hunt for a SxS 12 w/ exposed hammers.

It will be SBS'ed on a Form 1.

Since it's being registered on the NFA registry, basically, it's mine for life. So I want something that isn't prone to breakage, and will slick up nicely.

I figured that I'd see what the CASS folks were recommending these days, but every search that i do for CASS doubles turns up articles from 2010-2011.

Is CASS not a thing anymore?

Anybody have any shotgun recommendations?

Please and thanks.

Josh M.

What about something like this?

I have a very tight Stevens 311 in 20 Ga that I had thoughts on SBS'ing since IN recently made them legal. With the passing of 41f I have held off on a few F1 ideas I didn't get submitted in time.

Look at the official SASS website. Should have plenty comments. I use a hammerless myself.

I would go with the CZ. Very well made and a few spare springs would keep you in good shape for ever. Cimarron Firearms and Taylor's both offer a very good one but I am not sure how readily available spare parts are.
