Cleaning the office

by Creeker @, Hardwoods, Wednesday, December 21, 2016, 15:12 (2896 days ago)

Barbara is gone for Christmas to visit with her family so I'm home alone. Decided to clean my room. While going through paper work I found the first hand written sales record of Dry Creek Bullet Works. I know the names but not sure if all are still on this board. The first was Lance Breneman [Lancer]. Haven't heard from him in many moons. Lewis Ballard, Jim Taylor & CAZ are still here. Two others I'm not sure they post are Larry Leadingham & Matt Rohrer.

The first bullets shipped [1-17-01] were the Lyman 35429 & in those days we used Apache Blue Lube. Of the 7 sales on page one four were 38 caliber & one 45 & one 44.

I remember that!

I used a note pad for orders & a 2X4 with a nail driven through to push the orders down on.:-)

Yea and I wish you still were! NT

I enjoyed casting all those bullets but not sure I could do it again. I enjoy so much being retired. I shoot mostly when I want, same with fishing. Life is good. ;-)

You've earned it. I wasn't complaining. NT

Bryan some people aren't happy unless they have a job. I'm busy most days doing things but mostly they are things I wish to do like fool with guns or fishing poles. Another passion is driving. I'm no hot rod but really enjoy the mechanics of driving.

I'm curious to hear more about your driving interests?

I've always enjoyed driving as well. When I was younger I enjoyed straight-line pursuits but these days, I'm more interested in apexes and cornering and braking forces. In other words, more of a complete experience. I've had hot cars, bikes, etc but these days I'm really enjoying my Porsche 911 4S. It's an interesting car...a driver's car.

I drove many miles in 18 wheelers over the years but these days I really like small. 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual makes me smile. WV is curves & grades. If you like to change gears you like it here. I also love crawling through the woods on 4X4 roads.

I love exhaust tone & enjoy hearing it change as torque is applied or as the throttle is closed. These days I drive a 92 GMC 4X4 stepside 350, 5 speed. A 2000 Chevy Tracker 4X4, 2.0L, 4 speed auto. And when I must a 2013 Sliverado 4X4 ext. cab, 5.3L, 6 speed auto.

I would like to have a small sedan of some type, either front or rear wheel drive, again 4 cylinder 5 speed.

Here's the present drivers.

Lived in CA. Was one of the original 20 Jim T. Sixgunner Special purchasers, IIRC.

Still have a few 1104s of yours squirelled away - they might be lubed with Paco's Apache Blu...? :-)
