Flitz worked!

Folks,

Worked on the Model 10's side plate, which my gunsmith was happy to supply me with, and used plenty of the paste applied with Q-tips. After an hour's work, stretched out over two episodes of The Walking Dead last night, the nickel was gleaming and the rust was gone. Of course, it left behind minor pitting and discoloration. But overall, much nicer than it was before.

I think soaking the trigger and hammer in some white vinegar for a bit and using an old toothbrush on them should handle the rust issue there.

This afternoon,I will return the side plate after meeting with a detective at the local PD, where I will sign some papers, hand them over, and give him a money order for two more handgun permits. Should take about three weeks to get the permits. if there are no bureaucratic delays. And I can only use one permit every 30 days.
