Scott, have you noticed a lot of variation in new SA Ruger..
grip frames? I'm on my second 4 5/8" Super Blackhawk with the steel XR3-R grip frame that come with the laminated grips. Both are so oversized that even Hogue's oversized single action grips won't cover the grip frame. I'm guessing when I have a set made I'll just need to send the grip frame. Also, the last single six I had (one of the newer ones...since they started shipping with the thin black plastic stocks) was significantly shorter at the top of the grips where they fit under the flat area at the top. I had Dick Thompson make me a set of Birdseye maple for one of those SBH's and they were undersized like every other set of grips I tried. So I figured I'd fit them to the Single Six and they fit it well after removing a sizable amount of the top flat surface of the grip. I've never seen these variations before they started the laminated stocks on the Standard grip frame Supers with laminated wood or single sixes with plastic. Just curious...I figure you would know and I've been meaning to ask and this post reminded me.
