Lost my little pal last night...
...Ray (short for Raider) was a GOOD dog, even if he was a bit goofy. Half lab / half chow, he was a bit large and clumsy for an inside dog, but as sweet as a dog can be, and a wonderful companion for almost 11 years - he would have been 11 on December 18th.
He went out last night and didn't come back. I stayed up all night looking for him, ran up and down the road several times. At first light there he was, at the bottom of the hill, right at the foot of my driveway. Last night was a stormy one - I hope he wasn't scared (he was terrified of thunder & lightning), and I hope he didn't suffer. He was a GOOD dog, and I will miss him. I hope Dad got to pat Ray's head this morning.
