A friend is selling his AR-30 in .300 Win Mag. What do you guys think of these guns? What would you think price should be (excellent condition, one magazine, no scope)?

We have one...

My son bought one with combat pay earned the hard way in Ramadi and fitted it with a very fancy Horus telescope.

It is a big long heavy machine thing with a muzzle brake that looks like it came off a Tiger tank.

I have seen him fire a 5 round group from prone at 500 yards with WW 180 gr factory pack that was less than 3" across...no big deal...hot, cold, clean or dirty...bang bang bang just like that.

The trigger is absolutely match grade and the brake takes all the kick out of it...as in little or no recoil that can be noticed when shooting. The brake is a huge hot mess and one is strongly advise to not be anywhere to the side when this thing is fired within 50 or 60 feet. It is one of the loudest rifles to shoot that I have ever been around and I have been around some loud noise in my life. If you shoot from prone over gravel it will spray you and everyone within a considerable distance.

It is big, long, heavy and awkward to carry but a dream to shoot if you can get past the noise. Then again, that's what suppressors are for.

Buy it.
