I am tired of tumble lubing bullets (boolits)

So what did I do? I ceased being a cheapskate and I bought a Lyman 4500 and a .429 die and #649 top punch for starters for my 44-40 loads. Been tumble lubing since Lee brought out the stuff and pan lubed before then.

I cannot help to believe it will either make life much easier or more complicated. Especially applying SPG.

Any quirks about setting up and using this lubrisizer I should know? Should I have bought the RCBS? Will sizing dies for the old Lyman 450 model work in the 4500? Also will dies for the RCBS unit work in the 4500?

I'll need to pickup a .358 and a .452/.454/.459 dies/top punches for sure also.

Bob

Lyman and RCBS dies should interchange. I have Lyman 45, 450, 4500, all still working fine and use the same dies. Lyman dies have more lube holes than RCBS. Depending on the lube used, you may need the heater that is available for the 4500, but there are alternatives to that. Don't crank on too much pressure and set the sizing depth to be just enough to size the top band. This style sizer doesn't do well with bevel base bullets but that does have a work around.

When you say this style, are you talking both the Lyman and the RCBS? And could you point me towards the work around? I'm in the market for an luber also.
