It does not take the .32 short, .32 long, or .32 Colt NP...
I have read posts from several people who have converted single-shot .32 Rimfire/Colt guns to .32 S&W/S&W Long cartridges. No problems with them. Converting a single shot is evidently easy.
Converting a lever-action may (and I say "may" since I have no personal experience in doing that) can be more involved, what with getting the right diameter magazine, right spring tension, right lifter, right feed, right extraction, and right ejection. I do know that just replacing old Marlin parts with new Marlin parts that were made 75 years apart is difficult enough.
