Looking for a few guns...

by Bryan Pettet, Monday, January 25, 2016, 10:43 (3164 days ago)

I used to have a fairly serious collection of pre-war S&Ws, boxes, etc. Sold all that to finance the elephant hunt in '07. Sold a bunch of other cool stuff for diff reasons. My good friend JD thinks I'm crazy and he's usually right. I'm ready to start looking for a few items. I'm a little burned out on the mint collectible stuff so clean, above average shooters are my goal. Here's a short list of things I'm looking for...

Marlin 39A - no preferences on variation at this point

S&W K22 1st model

Marlin 1894 CB in 357 mag (20" octagon)

FA 97 in 357 - something around 4"...RB and octagon is a plus

I have a NIB Marlin Cowboy 357 that was about to go on Gunbroker. What kind of price were you thinking off.

Hey Tony. Long time since we last talked. I'm interested but can't find your email. This message board has a lot of nanny features. Ack.

I have a NIB Freedom Arms Model 97 in .357. The barrel is 7-1/2". I know it's a bit longer but it is NIB. I was all hot for it until I snagged a .44sp. New ones are $2292. If you want it, $2000 plus shipping. I can send pictures.

Appreciate the offer...

I just started looking so I'll dig around some. Thanks though!

Hoping for a short barreled round-butt and maybe octagon. I had one years ago and miss it. Yea, that's one that JD said I was crazy to sell. Hey, sometimes he buys when I'm feeling crazy so it's not all bad.

The one you were REALLY crazy to sell was....

The one that you were really crazy to sell was the USFA Flat Top Target 32-20 with factory ivory grips and color case hardened frame...... It says to tell you "Hi"

Do you have any idea what that's worth now?

by Bryan Pettet, Tuesday, January 26, 2016, 07:21 (3163 days ago) @ JD

Since they company went belly up and started making junk toys. So bizarre.

Have you shot it yet? It's a nice gun. I always hoped it was accurate.

I'm not sure what it would be worth now. People ask astronomical prices for them on Gunbroker, but I don't know what they really sell for. My guess is somewhere north of $2500, but I could be off.

I haven't shot it yet. I always plan on shooting it, but I need to get my skills up to speed to do justice to it. It's a beautiful revolver..... The previous owner was crazy to sell it :-) :-) :-)

I'm sure it's above $2500. It wasn't cheap new. Nice gun. Glad you have it. In case you ever feel crazy coming on...call me.
