with "cracker shells" last summer to run the elk out of an alfalfa field. Also ran miscellaneous loads through it (whatever my buddy had in his catchall box) with out any bobbles. It's a fun shotgun indeed. I really got the giggles over the authority with which it put down the ground squirrels. Quite a difference from the usual result with a 22. Like I said, nary a bobble and a whole lot of fun was had in the time alloted therefore.

I am not in the market for a new scattergun, but enjoyed reading your take on the 930.
First impressions of the Mossberg 930 semiauto

Thanks for the review. I have been interested in them
Since they came out, but wanted to give them awhile to see how they worked. I love the idea of a semi auto shotgun for defensive use, I'm just too old fashioned and still kind of leery of trusting them 100%. I do have a Stoeger Benelli knock off that I use for a bird gun and it has worked great so far, I haven't shot it a ton, but RD been hunted with for at least three seasons and it does great even when wet, cold, and dirty.
