My first carry gun & current. Takes 12 rounds in the current to make the same bullet weight of the first.

I don't necessarily believe all of our moves have been 'positive' but we evolve and move on...

Yea, my first carry was a Star PD, now its an XD9C with 13 rounds of Hornady critical defense and a spare 16 round mag...things do change. I shoot the XD much better than the PD now days.

G27 and took the HCP class (I owned other guns but wanted one specifically for cc), I've carried a few different guns over the years but I still carry it the most. I shoot better with it then a lot of my other guns, but I do try to get out monthly and I always put a couple mags through it first no matter what else I brought to shoot.

And as the old guys say, shoot what you have & learn to shoot it well.

I started out carrying a revolver years ago, and despite a long foray with a Glock 32, I've come full circle back to carrying a revolver.
HOWEVER!
I have come to the obvious conclusion that one of my little J-frames simply isn't enough, even with a speedloader available, and have decided on either carrying a second J-frame, or carrying my GP100 along with a J-frame.
I couldn't really say when, or if, or how, I might be called upon to need a sidearm, but I have an odd habit of strapping on the Hi-Power when going out of town. Exactly why escapes me, but I suppose its larger capacity makes me feel more secure when I'm not close to home base. Otherwise, it is wheelguns for me.
Actually, it is YOU who has made me aware of the need to keep it simple and make do with only one or two pistols. The gun of the month thing is great for plinking and hunting, not so much for self defense. Your common sense posts always focus on the same couple of guns, "beware the man who has one gun".

I can't believe you guys carry a gun everyday. You should be like NJ they know that the population can't be trusted to police themselves so they have a cop on every corner to do it for us. If you are victimized they will show up in short order and make a detailed report. nice and proper. If they catch the bad guy they will spend millions to reeducate them. If you don't survive the attack they will burry you like the statistics that make the state look bad.
Well...at least the corn's good.

With my XDS as backup. Same here - larger capacity is comforting. Like a good friend who habits this forum is fond of saying "carrying a gun is like carrying a parachute - you hope you never need one but if you do you will need it REAL BAD." I also have Elsie in the console with her laser sight figuring it is in easy reach and something my wife could handle.

Thanks for the kind words Otony. An old time shooter said shoot what you have just shoot it well. I try.

Another good reason to keep it simple, my wife can run a sixgun with no problem. Heck, if worse came to worse, it is a short lesson for most ANYONE to run a revolver. They might not do it very well, but it could be a d@mn sight better than not having a gun at all, or wondering which lever, button, gizmo to push on a bottom feeder.
I read pretty near everything you write with close attention. You pack a lot into a few words.

indeed.....I seem to correlate with some other folks here....in that my 'go to the...... locally" trips, are generally one - or sometimes two - hammerless J's. Well worn, with grips that fit my 'point' and smooth pulls. However, when it's new or predictably uncertain territory, I seem to 'gear up' with heavier magazine-fed Arty, and more fodder. Detroit merits a long gun, as well, tho it's generally the .357 lever, and not an AR. OTOH, I do recall at least once there, when a Quad .50 would have been damned satisfying, in order to clear a rock-throwing pack of urban monkeys, off of a once graceful -- and now dry fountain, on an abandoned island in the center of a roundabout.

AR pistol in the truck, 'cause I can carry it loaded with a concealed permit. Only way you can have a loaded "long gun" in your vehicle in this state is for it to be a "handgun".
Just sayin'.........

It's the same everywhere and with everyone I converse.
Momma and I traveled at Christmas as usually attired... with a small difference tho'
Short, slick, 12 Ga., 870, #4 Buck, bandolero... stoked.
