Wondering, any advantages to the 30-06AI

A couple of people on other forums have suggested that I consider it if I end up having work done to this Vanguard due to the copper fouling issues. I am currently trying to find a good all around bullet for North American game, I am trying the 200gr Nosler Accubonds, 190gr Berger Hunting VLDs, Sierra 180gr Game King BTs, and I just picked up some 168gr Barnes TTSX bullets. I really want to try the 175gr Barnes LRX bullet, but I have taken some financial hits here in the last 60 days, so they will have to wait. I am also going to work up a good cast plinking load with my Lee 202gr RNGC bullets and either Unique or 2400.

180s in my various 30-06 and 300 Wby rifles...I was to switch ton anything else, it would be a 180 Barnes...

Why would moving the case shoulder forward shortening the neck help with metal fouling issues in the barrel? Maybe I am missing something here.

I had kicked around the thought of having it rechambered to 338-06 or 35 Whelen if I couldn't get a handle on the fouling. I have pretty much decided to stick with the 30-06, and so few have brought up the Ackley Improved version.

I thought there was a small velocity gain.
I occasionally read that cartridges with the flatter shoulder angle have more inherent accuracy.
I have no idea how much of this you would actually see. For me I don't think it would be worth the trouble but some people like to tinker more.
