Dry summer - 22 LR drought...

As we traveled I'd stop by different places to check for 22 ammo. My b-in-law sold me a couple of bulk packs, one of which we shot up, and I picked up a couple 100 round boxes at Academy. But Chinamart consistently had nothing but signs saying "We'll only sell three boxes per customer." Signs don't do much towards allowing one to go plinking... Cabela's in Boise had nothing but the CCI Quiet loads, at $5 per box IIRC. They stayed on the shelf. On our return to SW MO we stopped by Academy up in the KC area - picked up two boxes of CCI Blazer apiece (first time my bride's bought ammo in ages!) and yesterday we found more at Academy in Joplin. Both places had cases of diverse kinds of 22 fodder, but only 2 boxes allowed per person. Still, we managed to replace the ammo burnt up on ground squirrels last month. :) It's good to know there'll be plinking fodder in the cache next time we're up north!

Things are getting better here but only a bit.

We happened into a Cabela's a couple weeks back and the shelves were pretty flush. We grabbed a couple of bulk packs each and were told at the register, "We got quite a bit in. Now our limit is 1200 rounds per person."

We have been back since and, yep, the shelves are nearly empty.

Still and all, I think it was a positive sign.
