our county's assistant tax assessors used to be typical tyrannical bureaucratic civil servants, skulking about in backyards at odd hours (often after dark) with their tape measures and cameras......peeping into windows, etc.......they got bitten by dogs and feral chillrens and threatened and assaulted and in two or three cases actually shot.....they were not replaced by more civil servants as they retired/quit/fired but by contractors, mostly retired military,,,,,,same tactics.....same number of close calls by armed citizens taking exception to a middle aged man with a camera on their back porch at 1900 hrs or 0530 in the morning......so now they are trying drones and are losing them to birdshot and airgun pellets faster than they can re-purchase.....
