We spent last week down at our place on the Ohio River. It was pretty uneventful, what with the water being too high to boat and daily rain showers. We did manage to have some fun though! My parents came don to our place for dinner one night and after the steaks were finished off, I drug out my four year olds 'Pirate Pistol'. It's a replica of a .69 cal 1777 Charleville Flintlock I picked up in a deal awhile back. I had not fired it yet, but I had sparked it quite a few times and have lit off a pan or two of powder from it. Well, I loaded the barrel up with a couple of capfuls of Goex Cartridge grade powder and filled the pan with 4f and we let her rip for an early Independence Day salute!

My wife took video on my iPhone and it was quite impressive! Later on, I paused the movie and looked at it frame by frame. It is pretty cool and I thought I'd share it here!

I'm trying to get the video uploaded and will post it here as soon as it cooperates. I also found that my phone has a slow motion video setting on it that might be cool to try out! looking back at the pictures, its no wonder I burnt off all my knuckle hair that night!!
