especially for heavy bullets

I think it would be a good vehicle especially for heavy bullet loads. Might be a bit heavy for "perfect packing a la Taffin". Back when the Bisley version was available with 5.5" barrel in .45 Colt I thought that was the perfect vehicle for heavy bullet loads but those were extremely hard to get down here too.

I would think the .45Colt MG would be the perfect packin pistol if you need a lot of power, especially if you are John Linebaugh and are willing to use Ruger-type loads in it.

I also remember Sundles writing about using the FA 97 in .45Colt as a packin revolver since it handles the hottest Ruger loads. The 97 is relatively small and light.

Of course the RH will handle even hotter loads and not do as much damage to your wrist in the process.

I've been considering a different direction for "perfect packin"... the new S&W M69 in .44 mag, before they get hard to find.
