FINALLY got to shoot both the adjustable sight Bearcat and the Single-Seven .327 at the range today.
98 rounds downrange of the Federal 85 gr. load with somewhat mixed results. The gun will apparently group but not from the bench today, oddly I did MUCH better both for grouping AND for proper placement (horizontal and vertical) from standing! My eyes are not up to 50-yard sight target alignment, at least in today's light (overcast and some light rain) and groups ran from about 6" to about 2 feet (the later from the bench and those way to the left of the target in as much as one could determine the group center). I tried busting clay target parts on the berm but couldn't quite get the range and missed them all. One thing I noticed was the gun was rough, sometimes really dragging as the cylinder turned and the ammo seemed "uneven" as in chambering it seemed as if there were tight spots in the chambers or fat spots on the brass. After the 98-rounds there was NO turn ring.
The Bearcat suffered through some old Russian steel-cased Junior "target" ammo and did some better with Federal American. The steel cases ejected with effort but the brass cases slid out slick as snot. I did about as well on the clay pigeons on the berm with the little (should I say "tiny") Bearcat as with the Single-Seven actually hitting a piece or two from 50-yards. 50-rounds of each was fired and the old Junior ammo was obviously suffering from age.
All in all a fun time!

Glad you got out. I did too last Saturday. I have been contemplating a 327 but the way my old NM Blackhawk shoots it would be hard to beat as far as accuracy, but the 327 sure would pack a lot better.
After our muzzleloader shoot last Saturday I asked the range master if I could plink a few rounds of 357 magnum from my Blackhawk (1980 model). He gave the ok and I asked if anyone wanted to place any bets. I was betting I could hit the 300 yard green gong (12 inches or so and diamond shaped). Nobody took the bet. I knew I didn't have snowballs chance but it was nice and sunny with good contrast for the target with a dirt background and foreground.
My partner spotted for me and it took 4 shots to walk them in and hit it with the last two. A few couldn't believe it and thought it was amazing. I talked of Elmer and they said "Elmer who?" I decided to try it offhand with the next 6. Two hits and 4 misses. The misses would have had a ruffian dancing for sure. My load is 13.6 grains of 2400 under a 158 grain XTP and a magnum primer(all I had when I loaded these). Seems like it chrono's about 1200 fps. Probably hit as hard as a 38 S&W at that range. I should have dug them out to see.
This Blackhawk has always been extremely accurate. I believe every thing is lined up perfect with this pre CNC gun.

collection "complete" so far as I'm concerned. I have a .22 and a .32 H&R. All three guns use the same holster. 
I am wondering just what the .327 will offer over the .32 H&R but am thinking it will be a more easily reloaded version of the .32-20 that will have a little more "ooomph" if that is what I want. I really prefer to pack a .45 Colt or .44 Special. They seem more flexible if you know what I mean.

I've ignored the .327 because I already have both the .22 and the .32 H&R Single Six Bisley versions of the Ruger (along with a 4-inch SP101 in .32 H&R as well) and an S&W K-frame with a Wondersight and a Marlin 1894 in .32-20. I can't see adding another .32 to the stable and there's nothing that the .327 will do that the .32-20 won't.
Not sure what the question was that the .327 answered and I have enough other lost causes (Remington 141 in .32 Remington, Martini Cadet in .225 Winchester, Martini Cadet in .25-20 several versions of the .219 Zipper and .218 Bee, and two older 10 gauge guns that have 2-7/8 inch chambers, just to name a few) that I don't need to be adding to the stable of firearms chambered for hard to get cartridges.

I have a .32-20 S&W as well as a Marlin rifle. No I don't NEED the cartridge but it will reload in the .32 H&R dies and they do use the same bullets. I like playing with new stuff. I guess that is reason enough any more. Soon enough I won't be able to do that and I might as well while I can, as long as I can.
