Very nice looking, I also have a thing for stubby leverguns.

It must be a disease.

Got a Win 94 like that, great gun. Fast and accurate...

Cool! Very handy, potent package.

Reminds me of CAS's write-up of his Guide Gun project and how it wound up being roundabouts the size of a BB gun when he was done. Haven't read that article in a good while. Guess I'll have to dig it out again. :)

VERY nice! Question for you...

It looks like the front sight is a simple dovetail and post/bead. Is this correct?

Did you have any issues setting the peep low enough or finding a tall enough front?

I put a peep on a 20" Marlin 30A and there wasn't a tall enough sight available. I ended up cobbling together a ramp and am not 100% happy but it turned out OK.

Hoot, the front sight is one unit. I don't think it has a name on it, but I could check more closely later. The gun was converted before I bought it and it's my favorite big bore. The friend I bought this from had a really nice early 1895 in original condition on his table that I looked at on Saturday, but it was gone on Sunday. I asked him about that rifle, and while he didn't have this one at the show, he offered it to me instead, so it turned out good for both of us.

Thanks Ray!

Hoot, I checked the front sight under a strong light, and it doesn't have any markings on any side of it. I guess it could be marked under the sight, but I doubt if it's been off in 30 years or more and I don't think I'm going to try to drive it off.
