Prayer request

Hey guys, on Sunday I got a call from an odd ball ex-pat who lives not too far away from here. He told me there was a US citizen interned in a local hospital and how do we let the US Embassy know? So I called them, they told me they were aware of the situation so I sat back to let them do their thing. Their thing turned out to be a call today to see if I had any further info - which of course I did not at that time. After two visits to the hospital (visiting hours for the ICU are only in the afternoon) and a couple chats with the doctor in charge of the case I was able to contact the man's son up in the US of A and fill him in on some of the details. TJ (the patient) was found after someone noticed he'd not been seen for a couple of days. They went in his room and found him in a bad way, shock from blood loss (internal bleeding) and other things. He's been in the ICU ever since then (sometime Saturday) and today was heavily medicated with wires and hoses every which way and restrained because of that. Anyway, he's in a fairly decent hospital which is connected with the local medical school. Prayers for him and his son who is pretty worried about him would be greatly appreciated.

You've got 'em Paul

Just got back from the ICU and TJ is looking much better, was more awake (less sedated?) but still impossible to talk with the tube down his throat. Turns out (from talking with his son just now) that he's a recent widower and a retired police officer from a major metro area. That should give me some subjects to yak at him about when I visit him again tomorrow. Thanks for keeping him in your prayers, and his son as well. It's got to be tough having lost one's mother and have one's father in a hospital in a foreign land.

Of course, Paul. Tough situation.
