anyway, here's a couple of bulky heavy items that have to go, as 'moving along' has [or will] dictate. first is about 250-300 Handloader/Rifle Magazines. The other is about 8-10 years worth of Double-Gun Journals. If y'r interested in buying either stack of printed paper, please drop a line to marshgrrl AHT g mail . com . Mostly just impedimenta, at this point in life, so while not 'free with shipping'.... we are clearing rooms. Ummm..no. BTW..no .357 Leveractions...nosir! ;~`)

A lot of quality reading right there!

Marlin, Rossi, Browning, and Uberti all perform like show ponies. NOW TELL ME...why in the world do you buy ANY gun you like that performs well and EVER sell it ? That is just silly !!

OK, I'll make this easy and reasonable - .357's for books-

henh-henh-heh.....actually, tho', their are some armory niches that need to be filled. A .45 Colt lever might work. Assorted revolving things might work -- among then a 4" bbl'd .357 DA. And -- lessee - it is Christmas - tho' this biz is is co-incidental. No lumps of coal, tho. I already hag collected a cellar full of that, over the years. Won't be sad to leave it behind, neither. Sooo..no off to the gloves, hoodie, and face mask -- while I run insulation up down the underside/inside of the attic roof. Interesting, too, It is beamed with irregularly dimensioned and unequally spaced sawmill beams of native lumber. Hard as a frichin' rock. Knock you cold as wedge if you forget that. Plus, you cant staple both edges on the wide ones to I have to use wire stringers crosswise. thinking about chicken wire, if that sags roo much. Yeah --ROOOOOOOO! G'day to ya all, and HappyPreparations..Be sure those MILsurp 81MM mortars are cleaned and ready to go for the new years firework star bursts. Seee...in this bunch, that would be appreciatted and just thought top a reasonable patriotic display.

Well, I had my reasons at the time...

Thought I wanted something else more but that didn't stand up to the test of time. Live and learn.

Yup..have let TWO go - one a custom by some famous.

doer of that stuff. Plan to be a gun magnet, but be realistic..

I sold that .357 Marlin to upgrade to either a .35 Whelen...

or a .35 Remington 336 Marlin (post Remington). I wanted one rifle for a go-to hunting rifle. I settled on (not for) the Marlin and ordered it. When it came in it was a travesty of crapmanship. Horrible fit and finish and the stock wasn't even fully inletted. Sent it back and didn't get either of my original options. I kinda regret not getting the Whelen now but that was then. I know some folks practically think it an unpardonable offense to sell a good gun but honestly, the more of them I have the less I shoot. That is a fact. I just don't have the time to keep up with enventorying components for umpteen different calibers nor do I even remotely have that kind of time to shoot anymore. Having a few that cover the bases, shooting and hunting with them on a regular basis and being a responsible husband, taking care of my home and working for a living seem like a lot better plan than accumlating for the sake of accumulating. Anyhow, I'm thinking of replacing the Marlin but the elusive go-to all around do-it-all rifle still sings the siren song to me. A .243 would probably be the most reasonable but it couldn't get anymore boring either!

Heresy..the man speaks common sense....or the wisdom..

of 'having collected'. For the Marlin .35 Question, it was and is one of my fave MidWest calibers..and in a vintage 336 full rifle, just friendly and accurate as could be. The vintage carbines are pretty dang nice, too, Nothing here new to the gentle reader, but a reminder that quality factory stock rifles have been well made and pleasant to the aesthetic eye. However, at some point, it makes sense to have a 'common militia rifle' [5.56 or 7.62], a light sport rifle or two [.357 and .44/45], and a 'big gasme' rifle of your choice and intended game. Keeps reloading and the rest simple -- which for those of us with multiple-many object working inventories already soaking up attention, time and space, is easier on the mind.

Same with pistols, tho I DO have weakness for ummm... multiples in certain calibers. Y'know..short bbls, long bbls, etc,, Hey, gotta go, work is on the agenda.. and young chessieGurl wants OUt now!!!

i pretty much have my bases covered...

AR15 carbine, stainless .30-06 and a pretty blue and walnut Guide Gun for stomping armadillos:) Everything else is just icing on the cake until it gets too much.
