I have used lead from several of these ballast plates (most are from the retiring F-15) and they make excellent bullets, they are pretty hard.
yes, intermittently ! but holy cow that would last me

Strike Eagle is about the coolest war plane I ever seen. Many fly overs at the USAF Academy back in the 80's and 90's had a flight of F-15's. Neat story one saturday afternoon siting in Falcon stadium I overheard a conversation between a father and son about his other son who graduated from the Academy and was a F-15 pilot and they had never seen him fly and he was doing part of the fly over for todays game. Well when they announced the pilot's name (his son) and when that Strike Eagle came over on full after burner his dad broke down and cried. I must have gotten something in my eyes at the same time because they were watering also. Around halftime here comes his son still in his flight suit. He had landed over at Prterson AFB and hurried over to the stadium. An unforgrtable moment for me.
