so think of an XD or a 1911 with a ported barrel compaired to a non ported barrel and you'll get a more accurate estimation of muzzle velocity... I used to carry my Ruger Sheriff's model (3.75" barrel) with an ACP cylinder around my ranch when I lived in Texas... at the time I had more ACP ammo than "long" Colts... so it was an obvious choice for me.
