can someone explain how LINKED IN works
"Facebook for adults" as mentioned above. Also the possibility of networking. The IDEA is that you only add folks YOU KNOW and can vouch for, so to speak. I'm there for others, for the most part. Several college colleagues, folks from diverse work backgrounds that I know personally, etc. Every now and then I get job suggestions in very inane ways. Supposedly there are a lot of different companies looking 'for folks with YOUR qualification'. Perhaps, but I've never expressed a desire to change the work I do. It's there, just don't look at it much. Also, it's a way folks can vouch for your qualifications. The site asks, "Does so and so know about such and such?" and folks can say "Yes" and you get brownie points or something.
