Just went by the hardware store and picked up a couple of PVC pipe sleeves, used a couple of long screws through them to hold the butt plate out a ways - now the rifle almost fits! Will be heading up to the range soon, I hope, and see what the old thing is capable of. No telling when I'll get the parts to get the Gamo up and running again so want something around that's at least shootable.
