Unknown Winchester 94 Chamber????

by ERSisk, Monday, August 11, 2014, 23:30 (3762 days ago)

Chamber looks to be for a straight wall, standard belted cartridge, not a 450 marlin belt. No markings on barrel. .458 bore. Any ideas?

.......had an article detailing a fellow's conversion of one of the fat sided Big Bore 94 receivers to .458 American. I can't think of anything else it might be.

john traister was the author and builder. i eventually rechambered it to the 450 marlin, an easy conversion and sold it off to a friend up here who says it is his favorite rifle.

Best you do a chamber cast

The shortened .458's have long held my fancy. Not sure what I want to do with them nor what I want to shoot them out of but it sounds like fun.
