Am sure someone has at one time or another eaten at Cooper's BBQ in Llano, Tx. Their
food is second to none. It is 70 miles from my home in Kerrville, Tx,and is well worth the trip. A close friend, my wife and I journeyed over today to celebrate my "79th birthday. " I had a sirloin steak, and a 2 bowls of pinto beans w/jalapenos, etc, & later a slice of pecan pie and washed down with "cold" ice tea. The lunch was literally fit fo a king!. I highly recommend Cooper's. They are on the internet. Click on to it and let your mouth water and drool!. ;-)

Believe I've eaten there, not sure...

My wife's parents lived in Mason, use to have to take my father-in-law to Kerrville for his radiation treatments. After, we used to stop and I'd buy him a watermelon from a guy who sold them out of the back of his truck in Kerrville. They were some of the sweetest I've ever eaten, my pop-in-law really loved 'em. My pop-in-law passed away some twenty years ago now, haven't been out there since the funeral.

There used to be a dandy BBQ joint about half way between Fredricksburg and Mason, pretty good BBQ goat.

I miss going out there.

Maybe my taste buds are off, but I was a little disappointed when I went to Cooper's. I had been looking forward to it, but I honestly think another little place in Llano is even better. Can't remember the name of it, but it's on the same road as Cooper's just a bit further west.

Lots of good Q in Texas, hard to beat Angelos in Fort Worth, or Hard Eight in Stephenville.
