Traded gunleather for an old M&P, should I take the add on's

By coincident I took my 5" 1931 M&P to the range this morning to shoot along side my Combat Masterpiece. The M&P shot groups slightly tighter, so these handguns will shoot and shoot well. The M&P sights make things more difficult, but they can be managed.

I would never have done to that M&P what was done to it, but I would not remove the rib and sights as they can only make it easier to hit with. The extra weight on the barrel will also be a help.

Beside, it looks like they milled a groove in the top of the frame for the rib and rear sight. Take it off and you won't have anything worth shooting. So, I vote to leave it on.
