Mark, I'm not sure how your question addresses the article posted? The article talks about how the Crimean war of the mid 19th century set the stage for the Turkish genocide of the Armenians and other religious persecutions by the Muslims against Christians in areas formerly protected by Russia.

There's no doubt that some of the oppressors of diverse Christian sects through the centuries have been other groups that also claim to be Christian - yet even this internecine persecution fades in comparison to the horrific persecutions committed by the Muslim and secular governments of the late 19th to mid 20th century.
