Can't speak to that model, but from the "few" screened type electronics that I've busted, self fitting a lookalike cover has been a no go due to dust, moisture etc contamination, AND in futility of matching tight factory tolerances.

But it could be worth a try if you are inclined and have the time..

I guess the only question is cost of repair vs. cost of replacement vs. cost of down time.

There is a guy on 75 up by cabelas that repairs electronic screens. They do phones and tablets, not sure if he does anything else. He did an iPad for me and it worked out pretty good. I will try and find his number.

If you're going to try cutting CD case plastic, Consider heating it up until it's pliable, then cutting it with a heavy pair of scissors. Alternatively, look in the Yellow Pages for people who deal in plexiglas or similar plastics like Lexan. Either should be available in thin pieces, and the shop should be able to cut it to size for you. I'd look for something that has some abrasion resistance.

but, most rigid plastics respond well to 'score and snap' cutting. Straight edge, razor/Stanley knife to score it and an edge to snap it over. Precision depends on how close you measure and how steady you are with the knife.

Plastics also mill and saw (fine tooth) quite well if you have such access.

Hardware stores around here have Plexiglass sheets but it's probably enough to do several screens.

I'm not familiar with that piece of equip but as long as it's not touchscreen plexiglass is the way to go if you can find it thin enough. The cd case plastic is prone to cracking and scratching. I'm an IT tech and have had to do a few similar repairs, you might also want to consider some way of sealing the edges so moisture can't get in as well. In the thinnest thicknesses an x-acto knife or similar razor type blade is enough but you must have a steady hand an make multiple passes. The main thing is trying to find something in as close to the same thickness as the factory screen, you might consider taking out the current screen and taking it with you to the store to compare.
