I have always liked these... The first Bill Jordan articl I read was his Smython/Smolt article. The first gun I polished was a Smython...

Remember the "Smuger"...

Seems like Lou Ciamillo built a Ruger Security Six with a Smith L-frame barrel for Mas Ayoob. Had a big old undercut front sight that Ayoob spec'ed so he could jerk it back and cut the bejeezus out of anyone who grabbed it.

Of course that was back when revolvers were "state-of-the-art."

Were???

Surely you jest:)

Tupperware is great at preserving things...

except blue steel, walnut and a glass-smooth DA trigger pull.

Agreed!

Obsolete is not the same as ineffective.

.

I'm not sure I would even classify revolvers as obsolete...

Today round count and "tacticool" seem to be the important qualities for keeping us safe from the monsters. I have both but I seem to gravitate to a 4" .357 for daily attire. I'm just not a real operator I guess;)

I got a chance to qualify on the speed course at the end of LFI-1 with Ayoob's Smuger back in the day. You could ask to use any of his guns provided he could supply it handily.

Very smooth action. I took the LFI-1 course with Smolt -- Model 66 with a Colt Python barrel grafted onto it. Also took the Star Fire revolver course with it. Fired more than 750 rounds of Remington +P .38 FBI loads through it in a week.

I remember when the first ones were done yars ago - did not know anyone was still doing them. The one by Jack really looks great - and he's got more to do.
