Boy am I fickle

I have been shooting my 375 Ruger and Springer 1911 almost exclusively for the last 10 months neglecting everything else in the safe. Well Saturday I took the daughter out shooting, she wanted to shoot the 1911, so I brought along my Super Blackhawk that hasn't fired a round in near 2 years, and my Marlin 45/70. So having the day off yesterday, I decide to go for a Monday drive through the desert, went to grab the 1911, and grabbed the Flattop 357 instead. It seems like everytime I think I have settled and something, the old stuff just pops back in and takes hold. Sure could tell I hadn't been shooting a short barreled sixgun in a while, but after half a box I was keeping them in the milk jug at 40 yards or so. It was unfortunate there were no jackrabbits, they seem to be on a down cycle. I'm thinking the 357 and 454 or Flattop 45 will need some exercise this weekend, and I am going to load up some 45/70 with Unique and introduce my daughter to the joys of a lever action.

Don't worry about it

I am the same way, as I suspect most of us guncranks are. I too have been slavering over 1911s for the past couple of years. Last night during a piddlin' session I was swapping out some K-frame grips and wound up with a set of dark walnut smooth Magnas on my old, much loved but recently neglected Model 13, along with a polished Tyler adapter. It felt so good in my hand and on my hip in the Catoosa Special holster Rob made me that I stuck the Commander back in the safe for a while and resurrected my .357 loading dies.

Variety is the spice of life!

Is that the same Marlin 1895 you got from me? NM

No this is the 1895GS, I think I got it at the Base Exchange. The one I got from you was sold to Dan of Bullshop fame, used the cash to buy a little .410 for my son.

We all are Dave.

I can't tell you how many times I rekindled an old interest by simply letting someone else shoot something I had squirreled away.
