Seeking oddball scope mount.

Folks,

Not trying to teach my Grandma to suck eggs or anything but, way back when, there were a number of scopes which did not use scope rings. Instead, they had a dovetail rail on the bottom. There was the Coltmaster, the Bushnell Custom...both intended for .22's as well as a European scope maker that I don't recall which could be used on higher power rifles. There may have been more but that's all I've seen to date.

I am in search of the clamp/mount which would secure a dovetailed scope to a grooved .22 receiver. Any leads are appreciated.

Thank you!

I have seen those...

way back when. Had couple 22 rifles that had 'em. See them at gunshows quite often....will try finding one for you.

Thank you Bud.

Hoot, I have one of those, BUT it is a proprietary mount for a J.C. Higgins (High Standard, made for Sears) .22 rifle and is a nonstandard dovetail size that don't match any other dovetail made in the history of mankind. Sears Roebuck was screwy like that back in the '50s when this was made.

I finally got tired of looking through the little 3/4 inch scope and mounted a 1" 4X on the gun. Took about 2 days of shimming and J-B Weld and looked like hammered hell when I got through, but the scope is still on there.
