Quiet .22's

I recently picked up a Winchester 74 in .22 short. Have had a LR version of this rifle for quite a few years and. Have enjoyed it immensely. I saw this one come up at auction and decided I should get it. It's writhing a thousand of the serial number of the other one I have, so they had to be close to being in the factory at he same time. It's pretty quiet with subsonic shorts. I haven't had a good chance to test it out, but shooting a few rounds into a bucket of sand in the garage showed function just fine. I've got five hundred subsonic shorts on back order with midway, and another 300 I found locally, just have to hook up with the seller. Hopefully it'll go with me on the next range trip. 20 rounds in the but stock tube ought to keep me plinking for awhile!
