A couple of pre war Smiths

I picked up a couple of oldies this morning. I saw these last week and after doing a little research decided to buy these two.

First up is a 38/44 Heavy Duty, from 1938. 5 inch barrel, lots of blue wear, but no rust. The grips do not number to the gun.

This is the one I'm excited about, been looking for an old Smith 44 Special for years and this is the first one I've ever found that I could afford.

It's a customized gun, barrel has been cut to about 3 5/8 inches, re-nickled and I believe those are aftermarket sights. Made in 1926. The cylinder and barrel are marked with the serial number. The grips are cheap imitation stags marked K frame underneath, this one gets a set of Grashorn stags.

It's no collectors piece, but I'm tickled with it.
