Haven't since the 80's.
Through his entire career, Dick Metcalf never written anything that impressed me. At least he is consistent.
I haven't had a subscription in years either
The quality of the writing went to pot 20+ years ago and any time I've read a Metcalf article I've been irritated by his lack of knowledge/sense.

Haven't since Elmer died. Looked at it once on the newsstand and it just was not the same. Never did warm up to Metcalf's writings.

I've met him several times when I lived in IL. He didn't impress me much then as a 20 year old kid. 17 years later I've still got a whole lot of 'meh' for him...

A MUCH better choice:) now I read Jim on FB and the only subscription I get is Handloader which I need to renew...though I don't really gain much from even it these days. Seems all anybody does is just recycle old topics over and over.

He made all sorts of claims about prizes and prize money, then somehow couldn't deliver? I remember some really serious cries for his head from the competition community.

I'm not sure, it was before my time over in IL. I do know that PASA Park down in Barry, IL was a really nice range. It partially accounted for me taking five years to finish a four year technical school!
