Price check. 4" M&P 32-20 pre war .
Before which war? First model, model of 1902 or model 1905? Many of these revolvers were made before WWI, much less before WWII. If it still has the original grips they are a clue, gold medallions indicate before WWI, no medallion grips are generally war years through 1920's manufacture, in the 30's they had the large silver medallions. Would need to be a bad refinish with lots of wear to keep $400 from being a great price. Heat-treated cylinders started at serial number 81287 according to Standard Catalog of S&W; earlier guns aren't a problem just don't use hot "rifle-only" type loads.
