I have a Savage 308 that's a great shooting rifle but due to a recent lackluster customer service experience with Savage regarding a new 223 bolt rifle that I ordered and received; I'm steering clear of new Savages in the future unless I can inspect the rifle thoroughly before I pay. I have a friend with a year old FN Winchester that's a great rifle and I certainly wouldn't pass up a deal on a Remington or Ruger. In the Brownings I have an older steel frame BLR that's been a solid rifle for me, in 358, although I've never been inspired by the looks of the BLR.
