WTS - Old "#5" style Colt custom

WTS - Colt Bisley that someone customized long ago to approximate the grip frame of a #5. Don't know the original caliber, but it now has a factory replacement barrel from the early 50s in .38 Special. The cylinder is not marked with the rampant Colt like the 2nd Gen ones were, so I assume it is a factory replacement cylinder from pre-2nd Gen days, like the barrel. Excellent timing and lock-up. Accurate shooter. The grip is very pleasing in the hand. Obviously inspired by someone who read Elmer Keith. The frame is a pleasing gray with some scattered, old light pitting. The blued parts show scattered wear. The cylinder and barrel each have a scratch on them, probably from the same event. These are the worst marks on the gun and I used lighting and angles to make them look worse than they do in hand. I bought this gun years ago when I started down the TLA book road and plan on using a picture of it as an example of how long the aura of the #5 has influenced shooters in various ways. However, given a recent employment change, I have to unload some pieces and I haven't shot this one in some time. Had I kept it long enough, I had considered having the barrel and cylinder bored out for .44 Special and remarked, but maybe that is for the next owner.

$1325 shipped from my FFL dealer to yours. I will ship to a C&R, but it might cost a bit more, as it will have to go overnight. Email me if interested. Thanks for looking!
