Ruger Customer Service
Another great customer service story. Last summer I purchased the Lipsey's Flattop in 45 colt/45ACP, well the simulated ivory grip panels don't fit just right, so I called Ruger a while back to see if they would let me send these grip panels back to them, and they would send me another set. They told me to hold onto the ones on it, and they would ship some new ones out to me, and if they didn't work, I was going to have to return the pistol. Well the new grips arrived, and they wouldn't even install on the pistol, so I thought, let me try them on the FT 357, the new ones fit the 357 like a glove, tried the ones from the 45 on the 357, had to really work to get them installed, it was the locater pin on both pistols that was the problem. Well the grips from the 45 didn't fit right on the 357, so I swapped the new ones back onto the 357, and put the 45s back on it. I am not going to send the 45 in, it shoots too well to have them start swapping grip frames and such, I will just have to send it off for some custom grips someday, until then, I can live with the ones on it, I don't even notice anymore. So I call Ruger up today, tell them I want to pay them for the new grip panels they sent me to try. Why? Well to be truthful, they improved my shooting the FT 357 immensely. What did Ruger tell me, keep your money, and sorry for your troubles, are you sure you don't want to return the pistol so we can make it right? That my friends is customer service, of course I argued that I needed to buy the grips, but she said it was a small price to pay for a happy customer.
