Two wheel drive Urals
The Urals with the two wheel drive feature have a lever between the bike and the side car that engages the side car wheel. At that point the two drive wheels are the two rear wheels in essence. Never the front wheel. There is no differential, so turning on pavement when engaged is tricky. It is like running a trike with welded spider gears if that makes sense.
I want one too.
Most of the reliability issues have been addressed. The brakes are now Brembo, except for the rear drum. The carbs are Keihn I believe. Nippondenso supplies some of the electrical components etc.
Did I mention I really want one? I have two bikes now, so getting a third is probably not in the cards at this moment.
