Hunting report: Uh-oh...

I may have started something....

Quote: "I've never had this much fun in my life!"

We had a ball. We got to the ranch an hour or so before sundown Friday. We walked out into the field and got to see a few elk and managed to surprise a small group of little hogs.

Saturday had us tromping through hill and dale where we jumped half a dozen groups of hogs but not much by way of size. We did sneak up on a sleeping sow but the only exposed portion was the rear part of the belly and hind leg. In trying to maneauver to a better position, the sow went from asleep to gone in a flash.

Later on that day, we got on a fair sized group and somehow managed not to spook them. There was another nice sized sow that we picked out and placed ourselves for a shot. Melodie got a shot off but it was a clean miss. She doesn't remember levering in another shell and was in absolute wonderment over how hard she was shaking/trembling.

Sunday morning we were hogless and weren't seeing anything. I was getting a little worried we were going home empty handed. We ran into my brother Dan and talked with him for a few minutes when a very unlucky boar wandered up the hill behind us. I put a .358 through the boiler room and it was all over.

Regretfully left the ranch and got home pretty late Sunday. Good times.

Too bad she didn't get a piggie but that just gives her impetus to go back again!

That smile says it all!

The smile on her face says it all...

Sorry to hear she didn't connect.

On the other hand, the smile on her face is enough to speak for itself. Yep, she can't wait to get back out there.

Thanks for sharing.
