FS: Nickel S&W 3rd Model Hand Ejector, 44 Special, 4" bbl. I bought this from Jack Fowler here on this forum a couple of months ago. There is nothing wrong with it, it shoots great, I just don't need 2 of them. It locks up fine, timing is still good. It has a wear spot in the nickel on top of the back strap, as seen in pictures. It has a set of plastic stag like grips. It is as I got it from Jack. No box, papers, original grips, etc...

At the time, Jack said he'd bet money it was a Wolf & Klar gun, I agree with him, but don't have a letter to prove it.

Here is his original listing:

Here's the old dog I picked up this weekend. Buttery smooth everything, like they always are, excellent bore and mechanicals. All but guaranteed to letter to Wolf & Klar Jewelers in Ft. Worth. The grips are those awful old plastic stag things that used to be in the "$2.00 box" on half the tables at any gun show. Now they have a certain style that kinda fits an old lawman special. If anybody suffers a craving, I can live with $800 shipped. First e-mail wins.

Honest Arch

I paid him his full asking price, $800, shipped for it. So that's what I'd like to get out of it, plus shipping, call it $825, shipped to your FFL or C&R.

First "I'll take it" email to bigbore45colt @ ptd.net (remove the space in front of after the @) gets it. Payment by USPS Money Order, cashier's check, or certified funds. Feel free to email with any questions.

I will leave this here for a few days and, if unsold, will take to auction.

Thanks for looking!

Matt, has this one been renickeled?

by brionic @, Thursday, August 15, 2013, 22:32 (4062 days ago) @ matt/pa

Can't tell from the pics, but the hammer and trigger look shiny-ish.

I was just thinking, today, that a proper 1926 is one of the few Ns I don't have, RM excluded.

Probably so, I would assume so. It is a shooter, and priced accordingly.

Minor correction, the 1926 was the 3rd. Neat story, 2nd models didn't have the shrouded ejector rod, it was dropped from the expensive-to-make 1st. model triple-locks. Complaints, specifically from Texas lawmen, were that bashing heads with their 2nd models would often bend the ejector rod, and tie up the gun. Wolf & Klar Jewelers in Ft. Worth were a major S&W dealer who kept hearing the complaints, and contacted S&W for a guaranteed purchase deal if S&W would catalog a new model with the shroud restored. The deal was made, and the vast majority of the new 3rd, or 1926 model were shipped to Wolf & Klar, especially the 4" guns.

Never say never in the gun biddness, but a rule of thumb you can live by, is that S&W, to anyone's knowledge, never nickel plated the hammers, triggers, or ejector stars on any nickel gun they ever catalogued and sold. Nor to anyone's knowledge I know, did they ever do so on a factory refinish order.

Thanks, Jack. I've updated the post, not sure what I was thinking last night when I posted that!

FS: Nickel S&W 1926 3rd Model Hand Ejector, 44 Spec, 4"...

Hey Matt,
How are you doing?

I am very interested in that revolver, however I need to move some safe trash before I can commit.
I am taking some junk to the local gunshow tomorrow and if that goes well I would be happy to take it at your price.

Please don't take this as a firm commitment to buy and anyone who has the cash and wants it, please buy it. You'll not hurt my feelings on it at all. :)

If I pull the cash together tomorrow I'll make you a firm offer and send you my FFL.
Thanks
David

David, great to hear from you, my friend. It's yours if you want it, just say the word, I can certainly wait until you raise the cash, I'm not worried about it.

Let me know once you've decided on it either way, please.

Take care!
